Welcome to Spring!

Hey, it's spring!

Okay, so it's not exactly that sort of spring--yet.  It is the spring semester, though, and that means in a few short days (It is winter in IL, so yes, the days here are short.) the Writing Center will be open once again.

We will open January 21 at 9:00 AM.  Our hours are posted in the heading at the top of the blog. We are very excited that for the first time this semester we are able to offer late afternoon hours on Tuesdays from 3:00-6:00 PM. Our hope is that this will help those of you who work or have classes all day and can't make it in before 3:00 or those of you who are only on campus for night classes.

Joining Nathan, Phillip, and Marla as WC tutors this spring are two new staff members.  Some of you may have worked with Peyton York through our embedded peer tutor program. Peyton will continue working with that program, but he will also have some regular tutor hours in the center.  Rounding out our staff for the semester will be Jason Brown. Jason is joining DACC's faculty as a part-time rhetoric instructor this semester as well as tutoring in the center.  Jason is an award winning author who is Series Editor of New Stories from the Midwest and is a former instructor at EIU.
